Debbie O'Toole - President
Debbie graduated from Pikes Peak Community College with an AA and AS. She retired from the Colorado Department of Corrections, Life Safety Administer for Colorado prison system. She also managed construction and environmental remediation projects. She is passionate about her service at Crossfire. Debbie is our current Board President and is actively seeking and writing grants for Crossfire. She loves God and has a compassionate heart for people. Debbie is currently learning Spanish to expand her opportunities to serve more people.
Joel Malick - Vice President
Joel Malick, a financial advisor with Steadfast Wealth Co. in Colorado Springs, CO, has spent the last 20 years in the financial services industry working hard to make a difference in people’s lives. Joel graduated with a degree in Finance from Seattle Pacific University, during which time he was able to achieve his longtime dream of playing collegiate soccer. In his free time Joel’s favorite thing to do is simply spend time with his wife and 6 children enjoying just about any activity as long as they’re together! Joel is a registered representative and investment advisor representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc. Member FINRA/SIPC. Michelle Dickerson - Secretary
Michelle is the mother of eight adopted children and is a loving housewife to a veteran. She homeschools her children and provides them with education and real life experiences. She is the former co-owner of Morning Glory Garden Shop. She is passionate about her family, her love for God and Crossfire. Along with serving on the Board, Michelle volunteers with her children once a week and serves as the Events Coordinator.
Leslie Miller - Co- Founder & Treasurer
Leslie graduated with a BA in English and Speech with a teaching endorsement from Colorado State University. Over the years she had taught and led many Bible studies and was also a Christian Education Director. She was the co-owner of two flower shops and a Christian bookstore. She was also the lead floral designer at the two flower shops. Currently, Leslie serves with her husband John at Crossfire. Her love for people and for God is evident in everything she does. She has a passion to teach and empower women to grow in their faith.
Paul comes to the Crossfire board with 44 years of advertising, communications and non-profit management experience. The first half of his career was invested in advertising agency tenures in Arizona and Colorado Springs where he served clients with advertising strategies and creative executions across all media. In 1992 he transferred his focus to non-profit ministries. He joined International Bible Society (now Biblica) where he rose from head of Creative Services to Vice President of Publishing. And following an 11 year stint he joined Compassion International in a variety of executive leadership roles in communications. He is a published author with Zondervan and other Christian publications. He has been married to Sandi for 40 years. They have three sons and five grandchildren.
Frank is a long time resident of Colorado Springs, and is blessed to be married to wife Susie for 52 years, has four grown children, and nine grandchildren. Since "free-tiring", he has enjoyed all kinds of family and community involvements, along with taking on his new interest in writing and illustrating children's books, Frank has enjoyed two professional careers: 20 years in public and private school administration, including thirteen of those years as school Principal, and 20 years in non profit ministry leadership and management roles at Focus on the Family, ultimately serving in the role of Vice President of the Contact Center, which included phone and mail response teams, Counseling staff, guest relations and tour staff, Bookstore operations, Cafeteria staff, and Events and Catering activities and personnel. Frank was honored to be given the opportunity to assist with training and development of staff and operations at the Focus on the Family contact centers in Canada, Costa Rica, and India. He has enjoyed giving volunteer time to several local ministries and organizations, including the Navigators/Glen Eyrie Conference Center, PastorServe, Inc., and the Evangelical Christian Academy. Crossfire Ministries has become Frank's focus, and he wholeheartedly supports its heart and Christ-centered mission and desire to help people in seasons of difficult financial circumstances.
Mike Helwege has nearly 17 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage in the Pikes Peak region and has been recognized by Costar Inc as a local “Power Broker” for 9 out of the past 10 years. His primary focus is cultivating relationships with users, owners, investors and developers, concentrating primarily on industrial, flex and suburban office properties. His goal is to provide his clients with performance and attention that consistently exceeds the expectations of his clients. Mike launched CORE Commercial Brokerage Company in 2016 after spending over 3 years as a Principal at the local Cushman & Wakefiled Alliance office. Prior to that he spent nearly a decade in a boutique firm being groomed by a top producer, working his way up to a partnership position and ultimately acquiring the company. Prior to beginning his career in brokerage, he was a tennis pro at The Broadmoor for six years, contributing to its distinction of having the top-rated teaching staff in the country three consecutive times as rated by Tennis Magazine. Mike is a past Chairman of the local Southern Colorado Commercial Brokers (SCCB) Board, and achieved the CCIM Designation in 2009. Mike then earned the distinguished SIOR designation in 2016 and enjoys being a part of the premier group of consistent top producers across the country and internationally. Mike is an avid golfer, a hobby woodworker and still tries to play tennis occasionally. He and his high school sweetheart, Kris, have been married since 2002. They reside in Monument, CO, with their 3 children: Hayley, Piper and Austin, along with a couple handful of loved pets and Mike’s dog, Bogey, goes to work whenever possible.
Renee Beebe - Executive Director
Renee worked alongside her mother and father at Crossfire since its inception until she married her husband, Troy and relocated to Lamar in 2008. Renee established two Curves Fitness Centers for Women, one in Lamar and one in La Junta. She sold the Lamar Curves in order to help her church design and establish a coffee shop outreach ministry called Brew Unto Others, which continues to successfully operate as a result of her previous expertise and planning. Renee was very involved in her community. She received the Successful Women in Business Award, she served for three years on the Chamber of Commerce Board and participated in a Retail Trades organization which she co-chaired in 2015. She was soon offered the job as assistant director of Healthy Places, a grant administered through High Plains Community Health Center. She has experience in grant and fund raising, building community relationships, empowering staff and workers, and organizational skills, among many of her skills and accomplishments. She has gone on two mission trips, one to El Salvador and one to Pakistan. Renee is passionate about people and her love for God. She is currently serving as the Executive Director for Crossfire.
John Miller - Co-Founder & Operations Manager
John graduated with a BA in Business from the University of Colorado and has 50 years of retail management experience. He successfully started and operated two flower shops and a Christian bookstore before God moved on his heart to found Crossfire Ministries in 1992. John has a passion for people and a love for God that is demonstrated daily as he selflessly serves his community.
Chip Shaw - Advisory Board Member
Chip graduated from Colorado College with a BA in English. From 1955-1957 he served our country where he became a US Army Officer in charge of personnel separation at Fort Carson. He spent 40 years building a successful career in life insurance sales and supervision for Connecticut Mutual and Massachusetts Mutual. In the past, he has served as the President of local Life Underwriters Association and Southern Colorado Chapter of CLU’s. He also served as a member of the board for the Pikes Peak Boys and Girls Club. He is a member at First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs. He is passionate about Crossfire and has dedicated many hours and resources to the success of Crossfire.
