Have you ever found yourself going the wrong way on a street? How terrifying! Thankfully it does not often happen in one’s life.
God gives us many warnings in His Word to keep us on the straight and narrow path. But to know what these are, we must be in the Word. Being in the Word is not enough, however. We must also take heed to the warnings, take to heart those things we learn, believe them, and follow them.
The Bible includes warnings and guidelines for every facet of living and life, from attitudes and viewpoints to things we must beware of, such as sheep in wolves clothes. No page in the Bible goes without some kind of important warning for our life and for our future well being.
If we grab a hold of all the warnings in the Bible and take them to heart, we could avoid a great deal of troubles, trials, and tribulation in our lives. The trouble is that Satan is actively pulling us away and leading us in the wrong direction. He keeps us over committed and busy so that we do not have time to be in the Word. His goal is to make us doubt the Word and promises of God. But we must be strong and walk in faith that what God says is true. We must not turn from the path set before us. We must not turn down the wrong path.
But we are not to stop there. If we love others and do not warn them, is it true love? We are to be watchmen on the wall, alerting others of the dangers that are warned about in the Bible. We must be like the signs on the roads that warn others not to go the wrong way. We must share with them the truth and promises that we ourselves have received in faith.
In Colossians 1: 27-28:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of his mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom: that we may present every man in Christ Jesus. KJV
First we preach Christ, then we warn every man, then we teach every man with the goal of presenting every man perfect in Christ Jesus. It is our whole purpose of reaching out with the gospel.
A very important verse to understand is Colossians 3:16:
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” KJV
Lord, please help me to budget my time wisely and include your Word in my daily commitment. Help your Word to dwell richly in me. Help me to see and remember your warnings and teachings in the Word. Help me to remember and believe the promises that you give me. Help me to be bold and share this wisdom and faith with those I love and know with gentleness and love. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
