Crossfire Ministries to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Crossfire Thrift Store in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, CO — March 18, 2026 — Crossfire Ministries invites the community, local leaders, and media to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, March 31,at 10:00 a.m. at 4609 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, marking the official opening of its new Crossfire Thrift store.

This event celebrates a major milestone for Crossfire Ministries, bringing together community partners, volunteers, and supporters to recognize the expansion of a mission that has served Colorado Springs families for more than 34 years through no-cost groceries, clothing, and care.

The ribbon-cutting will include remarks from Executive Director Renee Beebe, opportunities for media interviews, and a first look at the newly expanded space. Mayor Yemi Mobolade will be among the honored guests in attendance, underscoring the significance of this expansion for the Colorado Springs community.

The new retail space near the intersection of Barnes Road and Austin Bluffs Parkway features 13,500 square feet of expanded floor space, allowing for thoughtfully curated departments including Women’s, Men’s, and Children’s clothing, housewares, linens, jewelry, toys, and books. In addition, the facility has a processing space three times larger than the one at Crossfire’s main location at 3975 N. Academy Blvd., which will continue to house the no-cost grocery, hygiene, and care services that Crossfire Ministries has offered for 34 years.

This expansion allows Crossfire to demonstrate a deeper level of care and stewardship for donated goods. Every item entrusted to Crossfire is carefully sorted, cleaned, and curated by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Clothing is often steamed or repaired, ensuring that each item is presented with dignity and quality.

“We recognize that when someone makes a donation, they are entrusting us with something meaningful,” said Renee Beebe, Executive Director of Crossfire Ministries. “We care for each item as if it were our own—because it ultimately becomes part of how we serve another person in our community.”

Crossfire Thrift operates as an extension of Crossfire’s broader mission. Revenue generated through the store directly supports the organization’s no-cost grocery program, which serves approximately 1,500 families each week. By creating a self-sustaining funding stream, the thrift store enables Crossfire to respond more quickly to needs, provide nutritious food, and help prevent deeper crises such as housing instability.

In addition to its direct impact on families, Crossfire Thrift contributes to the local economy through job creation, volunteer engagement, and retail activity. The store also serves as a vibrant hub where community members can participate in generosity—whether through donating, shopping, or volunteering.

Following the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the store, explore curated departments, and see firsthand how donations are processed and prepared for the community.

Members of the public, media, and community leaders are encouraged to attend and participate in this milestone moment for Crossfire Ministries.
